How Much Is Too Much Lumpwood?

Adding a pinch of charcoal isn't as easy as measuring it in a measuring cup. While you might go by weight when barbecuing, who among us has a scale at hand? It is suggested by some grillers to grill fragments of bags, such as half of a bag, a quarter of a bag, and so on. The size of the bag is not too bad, but it could be more precise, assuming we know the size of the bag. There are others who will count the bits one by one. It's not a terrible approach, but given the wide range of sizes, it might not be accurate enough.Using a charcoal chimney, we recommend dividing it into quarters, half-full chimneys, full chimneys, and so on. For your purposes, this is sufficient since most chimneys are of similar size. The hallmarks of grilling are high temperatures and rapid cooking times. The opposite is true when it comes to smoking. Yet, you won't need more charcoal as a result.

Sustainable Supplier

From Ridge Farm in West Sussex, we offer a variety of wood products for cooking and heating. From the beginning, our company has adhered to the same ethics. Using clear woodland management programmes for replanting and felling, we process local logs from Surrey and West Sussex. To ensure that the wood we use is sustainable and managed, as well as to ensure that any wood we import, such as olive wood, comes from authorised and managed farms or woodlands.

FAQs

How Do You Use Instant Light Lumpwood Charcoal? For outdoor charcoal BBQ grills, Instant Light Lumpwood Charcoal is fast and easy to use. The inner bags in each packet should be placed onto the charcoal grill and lit using a long match or utility lighter. Lumpwood lights easily every time, creating a flame quickly and reaching cooking temperatures quickly. Is Lumpwood Charcoal Better Than Briquette Charcoal? The best use for lump wood is in high-heat searing and grilling, as well as in places where you want to add the most flavour. Unless you're grilling with a kamado style grill, briquettes are better for controlled, low and slow smoking. What Is The Healthiest Charcoal To Use?Charcoal lumps are preferable because they do not contain additives or petroleum products that are flammable. Wood is burned in a low-oxygen environment, leaving only pure charcoal in the shape of the original wood pieces.
